  Be sure that you understand all of the rules and policies of your childcare provider

  Share information about your child daily.  Ask your provider to do the same for you.

 Communicate with your childcare provider and be as honest as possible

  Visit your childcare facility and watch it in motion

 When problems occur, talk with your provider right away. Don’t allow a small
problem to become a big one.

 Let your provider know about your child’s home schedule and activities

 Never talk negative about children while they are present

 When you have a concern schedule an appointment with your provider at a time that
you can speak privately when children are not present

 All concerns should be addressed as soon as possible (that will help providers
and parents stay on the same page as much as possible)

 Remember that your childcare provider is working hard to meet the needs of all of
the children in his/her care

 Always drop off and pick up your child on time

 Pay all fees on time

 Acknowledge when your provider is doing a good job

 Remember to say “thank you” to the provider that is caring for your child

 Make sure that the environment is clean and clear of any harmful materials

 Check with the provider to insure that all toys are safe and age appropriate for your
child

 Be sure that the person transporting your child has a valid driver’s license and valid
car insurance.

 Make sure that your child feels safe with your care provider
